Semta NI truly understands the value that maintenance apprentices bring to engineering and manufacturing companies across N Ireland.
As in past years, ‘The Maintenance Apprentice of the Year’ recognises apprentices who are shining examples of excellent academic achievement and occupational competency; apprentices who have made considerable achievements in a vocational field.
Semta NI is inviting people to nominate a maintenance apprentice they know as ‘The Maintenance Apprentice of the Year 2012’.
This award is designed to celebrate maintenance apprentices and showcase the best in vocational achievement. The Award aims to demonstrate the talent, skill, commitment and effort required to succeed as a maintenance engineer.
Of particular interest will be evidence of how the apprentice has contributed to their Maintenance Department or employer; such as cost savings.
We would like people to nominate apprentices who they feel are prime examples of vocational success – innovative, talented individuals who are using their vocational qualifications to achieve their goals and success in their chosen field.
Nominees will need to demonstrate evidence to show that they have used their competency, knowledge, attitude and ambition to achieve success and stand out from their peers
Deadlines
Nominations for the Maintenance Apprentice of the Year Awards must be received by Wednesday 29th February 2012. The winner will be announced on Tuesday 1st May 2012 and will receive an Apple iPad.
Eligibility and judging criteria
The Maintenance Apprentice of the Year must have successfully completed a Level 2 NVQ and be currently working towards a nationally recognised NVQ Level 3 within the Maintenance environment.
The award is open to any apprentice of any age, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.
Judging
The judging panel will consist of occupationally competent persons within the Maintenance, engineering and manufacturing environments.
