Thales Air Defence Launches Semta NI

To date the Engineering Training Council have represented the interests of Semta in Northern Ireland. Semta is the Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies. To improve efficiencies and to provide clarity in the sector ETC are officially introducing a new business entity in 2012, Semta NI. The introduction of Semta NI as part of the National Semta Group is to undertake sectorial initiatives in Northern Ireland. Their priority is to address the sector's skills needs, providing expert support to improve performance and growth.

The launch of Semta NI will take place at Thales Air Defence Belfast on the 24^th January 2012. This event will include introductions to the SemtaNI team, as well as an overview of some of the sectorial activities Semta as a Sector Skills Council have been involved in to date. Activities such as Women into Work, Engineering Apprenticeships, Business Improvement Technique Training and Skills Competitions to name a few, initiatives in which Thales Air Defence have been instrumental in ensuring their success.
