Engineering Training
Council is an employer-led body, governed by a council whose members
are elected to ensure a broad representation of the engineering community.
The Council's vision
is that the provision of engineering training and education in Northern
Ireland is second to none.
The Council
supports the engineering manufacture sector by:
 |
Identifying
skill requirements and training needs of the industry |
 |
Representing
the industry's training interest to the Government |
 |
Promoting
initiatives such as National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs),
Investors In People and Modern Apprenticeships. |
 |
Promoting
engineering as a career to young people by providing information
and advice to schools, career advisors and directly to young
people and their parents. |
In order to
provide a quality service for the engineering industry the Council
liaises with Government, National bodies and various training providers,
to reflect current and future training requirements within the sector.
